Welcome To Troop 722!

Whether you have just crossed over from a Pack or applied as a new Scout, this is an exciting time for you! It can be a little overwhelming at first but if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask anyone. We were all new to the Troop once as well and know what it's like. The information on this page will help you get started but if there's anything you're not sure of, just ask!

Trail to First Class

There's a lot to do in order to earn the rank of First Class. We understand and want to help you get there as easily as possible. With that in mind, Troop 722 has a program called "Trail to First Class" to help you earn the requirements needed to advance in rank. However you must remember that it's up to you to complete each requirement and earn the ranks. We can provide the opportunities but it's up to you to make the most of them.

Troop meetings are every Thursday at 7pm

During the school year we have Troop meetings every Thursday night at Faith Lutheran Church, located at 20080 Redwood Rd. in Castro Valley. The third Thursday of the month is reserved for troop leader meetings. Each meeting lasts for about an hour and starts with the call of "Patrol File!". When you hear that call, everyone lines up by patrol for the opening flag ceremony. That's followed by general announcements and then everyone breaks up for the night's activities. The meeting wraps up with any last minute announcements, the Scoutmaster's Minute, and then the closing flag ceremony.

Check the calendar for additional events

Every month we have lots of outings, from camping trips to service projects. Check the calendar to see what's coming up and register for the ones you're interested in attending.

Uniform and handbook

When you first join Troop 722 you should receive a Troop 722 cap, 722 patch, Fleur de Lys patch, BSA San Francisco Council patch, Class B shirt and the Scout handbook. You earn the neckerchief and slide by camping five nights with the Troop.

Where to get stuff

The East Bay Scout Shop is located at 1001 Davis St. in San Leandro. They're open from 9am-6pm Mon-Fri, 9am-4:30pm Sat and closed Sun.
